â God loves you! â
* He's not a dead God
* or an absent God
* or a silent God
* He's right there.
* you just have to tune in to Him
Matthew 11:28-30
John 10:10
* He's not a silent God
* He's right here.
* you just have to tune in to Him
The way to âtune inâ is to accept Jesus Christ, confessing Him as your Lord and Savior.
Watch this video for the importance of the gospel! Truthfully, we arenât very good people, but with Christ, we can miraculously be made good, and deserving of better -- the better things that He intended for us to have in this life.
These are 10 commandments, which are rules God gave us to follow. How many have you broken?
1. Serve God alone
2. No idolatry
3. Do not use Godâs name in vain
4. Honor the Sabbath
5. Honor your father and your mother
6. Do not murder. (nor hate; see 1 John 3:15)
7. Do not commit adultery (nor lust; see Matthew 5:27-28)
8. Do not steal
9. Do not lie
10. Do not jealously desire what belongs to someone else
See how serious God is about sin. This makes sense though, considering that He is also a Judge, and is impartial concerning goodness. He considers hate to be murder and lust to be adultery! These commandments are Godâs moral law. We have broken some, if not all of Godâs laws. Thatâs called sin, which is a transgression of the law. Death is defined as the wages of sin. Jesus has come to pay the fine for our sins, so we can be forgiven before God, and receive Hsi restoration.
If you met God today and faced His judgment, would you be ready to go to heaven?
Matthew 7:21-23
God is a righteous judge, and He hates lawlessness. Humans have a sinful nature, this is why sometimes, we like to do whatâs wrong. However, this sin kills us and stops us from living a fulfilling life that God intended for us. But God made a way out. This is why in John 3:3, Jesus tells us we must be âborn againâ to enter heaven. By being born again, you are âbornâ of Godâs Spirit -- given a new nature - one which desires righteousness. Become born again!
Remember light and darkness cannot mix. Resist the devil and it will flee! One way to start resisting the devil is to give your life to Christ. Christ is powerful enough to help you overcome. The Bible says âtoday is the day of salvation.â
Itâs time to turn to God!
1 John 1:9
Acts 2:38
To repent, you change your mind about your sin, and about God, and you decide to turn away from that sin to follow Jesus.
With a repentant heart, acknowledge your wrongdoings before Him. Pray. The wages of sin is death, but God gifts us eternal life in Jesus. Christ died on the cross for all of us! If you confess Him as your Lord and savior, you will be freed from the bondage of sin, and no longer under the power of death.
Romans 10:9-11
God sees your contrite heart.
Never be ashamed of appearing before God. Nothing can separate you from His love! See Hebrews 4:16.
If even the devil can show its face before God, then surely you can.
Below is a sample salvation prayer, but you can pray any way you like -this is you talking to God- just follow the scriptures above the Salvation prayer. Express yourself to God.
Sample salvation prayer: (Repeat this, aloud if possible)
* Thank you Jesus, for sacrificing yourself for me
* Lord Jesus, I come to you as a sinner in need of repentance. I ask for your forgiveness.
* Today, I denounce Satan and proclaim Jesus as the new Lord of my life. From this day onward, I am a child of God, redeemed and anointed to live a life of light. A life that illustrates the grace of my Lord.
* Thank you God for coming into my life. In Jesusâ name I pray, Amen!
John 1:12
Colossians 1:22
1 Peter 2:25 and 1 John 4:15
1 John 2:12
Welcome to the family of God!
* you are of the elect
* you are saved
* Have no guilt about past sins, you are now redeemed. (2 Cor 5:17)
Now you have the Holy Spirit!
The Holy Spirit. This is Godâs Spirit, who dwells in believers. God had promised us the Holy Spirit in Joel 2:28. The Holy Spirit will correct you and even pray for you (Romans 8:26-27). Pay attention to your dreams (Job 33:15-18), and your thoughts (Phillipians 4:8). The Holy Spirit will guide you on your journey with God. One way He does this is through your spiritual gifts -- God-given abilities which help you and other believers to be stronger children of God. Get to know the Holy Spirit - John 4:24!
Ephesians 1:13
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Romans 8:26-27
2 Timothy 1:7
To keep in mind as a believer:
* Fear God alone (Isaiah 8:13). Do not give satan the chance to use fear, doubt, and anxiety against you! Cast all your anxieties and cares on God, He cares for you.
* Forgive those whoâve hurt you. Just as God forgives you - so well that He treats you as if youâve never wronged Him before. Pray to God for help with this. Romans 12:19. James 2:13. Prov 24:17-18.
* Be careful of secrets. Also do not take counsel from the ungodly. Psalm 1:1. Itâs better to take counsel from the Holy Spirit living in you. 1 John 4:4. Be mindful of who you keep company with. Jer 12:6. Donât fear, but be wise. God will help you and defend you.
* Protect your head, your spiritual crown.
* Study Godâs (600+) promises of love to His children.
* Take the Bibleâs words seriously.
* When you get evil thoughts -as image or word- stop everything and reject it. The devil tries to project evil thoughts (temptations, emotions, evil doubt) and plant seeds in your head. Donât be lackadaisical about anything the devil sends your way. Pray against it in the name of Jesus.
* Donât speak death over yourself. Be careful what you say! Listen to the word of God instead of the whispers of the enemy. Donât embrace the devilâs lies. Believe God instead. God still cares for you, and to better your self - image (which is Godâs image) - read this.
* Only God is infallible. Take everything you learn with âa grain of saltâ. Donât idolize any Christian teachers. Follow Godâs word above that of anyone else
* Know your divine birthright! This âbirthrightâ is Godâs promised blessings to you, a qualified, born-again, child of God. You should claim these blessings in prayer. Some examples include:
* Restoration* [2 Chronicles 7:14-15, Jeremiah 33:6]
* Eternal life** [John 3:16, 1 John 2:17]
* Miracles [Ephesians 3:20]
* Prosperous future [Jer 29:11]
* Answered prayers [Mt 7:7, Psalm 34:17-22]
* Guidance from God [John 16:13, Isa 30:21, Psalm 32:8, 1 Corinthians 10:13],
* Protection and angelic services [Hebrews 1:14, Ps 91, Psalm 34:7]
* Prosperity*** [Amos 9:13-15, Philippians 4:19]
* Healing **** [Isaiah 53:4-5, Ex 23:25, Jeremiah 30:17, Isaiah 57:18-19, John 14:27, Matthew 11:28-30, Isaiah 40:29, Prov 3:7-8]
* Restoration of any blessings lost from your time before Christ
** Eternal life on the healed Earth, in a restored body (Revelation 21 and 1 Corinthians 15:35-58)
*** Prosperity of more than merely money
**** Healing of the mind, spirit and body
* Always pursue God.
There's always more when it comes to your relationship with your Heavenly Father! Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Do not be complacent or lazy in your growth! (remember Proverbs 18:9)
"And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him." - Colossians 2:6
That way, it's easier to hear from God, obey His instructions to you, and have a better connection to His Holy Spirit.
One way to do that is to spend time with God, because your relationship with Him needs to be maintained (just as you would with a human).
An easy way to pursue God is by studying His word!
Read this! About the Bible:
The Bible is the Word of God, written by humans inspired by the Holy Spirit. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
God's word is called "living and powerful." Even though the Bible was first written many years ago, it is still applicable to modern life!
Read 2 Timothy 3:16 for more about the meaning of the Bible!
Why read the Bible anyway?
* Joshua 1:8, Amos 8:11, and Hosea 4:6
* We want Godâs word to be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. We want to be guided by God on this journey, 24/7!
* We want the Holy Spirit to be able to remind us of what God has promised, to teach us all things, and to remind us of important scriptures for specific situations.
It is best to study the Bible daily. Some people read the Bible first thing in the morning, or last thing at night, or at a random point in the day, but pick a time that works for you! You can start at reading for 10 mins, or a chapter per day. Don't rush, just take your time to "medi tate" on the word of God. God also speaks through His word, so make sure you pray for understanding before you dive in!
The Bible is separated into two main parts - the Old Testament (OT) and the New Testament (NT). The OT was written in Hebrew and Aramaic, and the NT was written in Greek.
What translation to read?
The Bible has many translations, in various reading levels and languages. Please donât be overwhelmed by all the options, simply use one that you can read comfortably!
(If you donât want to commit to a Bible translation that you might not like, try reading it for free online first!)
