FFXIV DUTIES

(TL;DR)

________________

On PC: View → Print Layout off! | On mobile: View → Print Layout on!

By @spidersplaysff! Mostly condensed from the wiki + other guides for personal use, because my baby brain can't read a wall of text in life or death situations (understandably!)

Weird formatting so it can sit comfy on the side of my screen!

Is this still being updated?

Short answer - nope!

I put together this doc bc i started as a tank and was terrified of not being prepared for dungeons and eating shit because of it. It was nice to know what to expect yes, but as a seasoned player I now find it more enjoyable to go in blind, eat shit and and have fun!

I'll keep this doc here, but note that different data centers might do things differently, or because of today's gear you just won't see some mechanics happen, so don't worry too much!

Several low level dungeons have been/are being adjusted as of patch 6.0 onwards, so any duties that are out of date are highlighted in grey. I don’t think I’ll update these, so if you’re really keen on info please check elsewhere!

ARR DUNGEONS

Sastasha

Welcome to baby: the dungeon

* Are you a baby tank? Turn your enmity generation skill on at the start of dungeons, and keep mobs turned away from your party ideally! If you have AoE skills available slap them for large groups!

Check parchment in the side room to see which colour switch to press later (optional but makes it quicker)

1. Chopper

* Avoid AoE/orange circle → paralyzes

2. Captain Madison

3. Denn the Orcatoothed

* DPS is usually high enough to just burn the boss down, DPS can use Limit Break in dungeons at like 10%-20% to make it Even Quicker

* Safe to ignore adds (new enemies that spawn), just burn the boy down

* If adds are causing trouble, interact with grates to cancel the spawn
