The History of the

“In the 5th century, Japan’s farmers, hunters, and warriors packed their lunches in sacks or boxes and brought them to the fields. The design is derived from a farmer’s seed box, and usually features multiple compartments for different dishes, such as rice, vegetables, and fish.

More recently the Bento Box has transformed to food art and seen a social status. Some parents spend 45 minutes preparing their child’s Bento Box for school.

-SOURCE

The same precision and care that a parent puts into making their child’s bento box is now trending with photographing books. #BentoBooks photos are created to invoke the message, theme, and story of the book.
